Your child will learn how to sing, dance, and perform for a live, theater audience from a musical theater coach who specializes in teaching children. It's a great opportunity for them to have fun, make friends, and blow off some energy in a healthy and productive way.

About Course

Musical Theater is a great way to learn the arts of acting, dance, and singing. Not only that, but it’s a TON of fun, too.

In this class, kids will get a chance to learn these skills, make new friends, and enjoy themselves from a dedicated musical theater actress and childcare expert.

Ages: 5 through 10

Duration: 4-weeks

Dates: August 31, September 7, September 14, September 21

Kids will learn to act, sing, dance, and make new friends.
Week 1 - Introduction to Theater
-Icebreaker Game
-Discussion: What goes into musical theater: singing, dancing, acting, storytelling.
-Activities: Acting out emotions and Creating props (masks)
Week 2 - Exploring Different Musical Genres
-Listening: Musical Genre Exploration
-Discussion: What makes a song memorable? What is Choreography?
-Activities: Group Song Exploration, Dance movement Games, Improv a Skit
Week 3: Acting and Character Development
-Warm Up: Theater Games
-Discussion: Creating Characters
-Activities: Character Charades and Crafting Homemade Microphones
Week 4: Putting It All Together - Mini Musical Workshop
-Brainstorm: Plot and Characters
-Scriptwriting: Writing Dialogue and Lyrics
-Rehearsal: Blocking and Rehearsing
-Performance: Mini Musical Showcase
-Reflection: Discussion and Feedback

Naomi Grace, 24 year old from Northern Nevada, embarked on her acting career at the age of 5 in musical theatre productions for her community and school. She has been in over 25 stage productions and has co-directed 2. She attended stage acting classes at Great Basin Community College in Elko, NV and film acting classes here in Las Vegas, NV. Naomi has been apart of several feature films learning all that she can from first hand experience. She was raised in a family of teachers and now is taking on that role herself.
